Aleks Shameti is an Albanian-American pianist studying at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance under a full scholarship with professor Christopher Harding. As a soloist, Aleks has garnered success in many competitions such as winning the University of Michigan’s 2024 Concerto Competition, placing 1st in the Steinway Piano Competition in Michigan, and being awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2021 David D. Dubois Piano Festival and Competition. In Albania, he also performed in an array of concerts and competitions such as “EPTA” in Tirana, “Pjetër Gaci” in Shkoder, and “Këngët e Tokës” in Ksamil, winning first prizes in the first two, and the Grand Prize in “Këngët e Tokës”. As a chamber musician, Aleks has performed in an array of ensembles including the Grasshopper Trio, with whom he was awarded the 2nd prize from the Briggs Chamber Music Competition.
