Philadelphia-based pianist Angeline Ma currently studies with James Giles at Northwestern University as a recipient of the Betty van Gorkom Music Scholarship. Recent accolades include 3rd Prize and Best Duo Sonata in the PianoArts Competition, where she played Mozart’s 20th Concerto with the Milwaukee Symphony under Yaniv Dinur; winner of the PianoTexas Concerto Competition, where she played Prokofiev’s 2nd Concerto with the Fort Worth Symphony under Miguel Harth-Bedoya; 1st Prize Young Artist in the 2024 Music Teachers National Association, and 2024 Gilmore Festival Fellowship. Angeline has performed at the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York City. She’s been featured on NPR's “From the Top” and WRTI 90.1, and has worked with Maria João Pires, Piotr Anderszewski, Andre Laplante, Jeffrey Kahane, and Dang Thai Son. Angeline is from Berwyn, Pennsylvania. She credits Grigory Sokolov and Kate Liu, her musical idols, for her inspiration.
