2023 in Review
As we come to the end of 2023, let's take a moment to appreciate what a remarkable year we've had. The CHOPIN for ALL free concerts, both live and live-streamed were enjoyed by hundreds of appreciative audience members across two counties. The Chopin Salons delighted our guests, both loyal and new at the Miami Beach Woman’s Club. 2023 Chopin Salons
January 28, 2023
Jon Nakamatsu (piano) & Michael Klotz (viola)
At January’s Chopin Salon, the spotlight shone brightly on a remarkable duo. Two exceptional artists, Jon Nakamatsu on piano and Michael Klotz on viola provided Chopin Members and friends an enjoyable rare treat. The performance not only showcased Chopin’s piano solo repertoire but also included the most renowned compositions written for viola and piano.

Ning An - First prize winner at the 2000 National Chopin Competition
The March Chopin Salon featured a special performance by Ning An. His program, which included pieces by Ravel, Rachmaninov, and Chopin, along with the renowned Chaconne by Bach-Busoni, was warmly received. The diverse repertoire showcased An's exceptional talent, making it an unforgettable performance that left a lasting impression on the audience. A delightful reception followed where guests had a chance to meet the artist and enjoy the intimate ambiance of the Miami Beach Woman’s Club.

Martin Garcia Garcia - Third Prize Winner at the 2021 International Chopin Piano Competition
Martín García García kicked off the 2023-24 Chopin Salons season with a spectacular performance that drew many Chopin enthusiasts to the Miami Beach Woman's Club. Amid a demanding schedule involving nearly 80 concerts worldwide this year, Martín delivered an unforgettable performance for Chopin members and guests. His beautiful music and the delightful after-concert dinner with Lady Blanka Rosenstiel will linger in our memory for a long time.

Rachel Naomi Kudo - Chopin in Key Biscayne
The February Chopin in Key Biscayne concert, presented in collaboration with the Village of Key Biscayne, was held before a standing-room-only crowd. These special concerts are always held on a Sunday close to Chopin’s birthday and provide a wonderful opportunity to share Chopin’s music with the Community. Rachel Naomi Kudo once again raised the bar to beautiful heights.

5th Frost Chopin Festival
The 5th edition of the Frost Chopin Festival returned to the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music and offered unforgettable performances at the Maurice Gusman Concert Hall by some of today’s leading artists. Dang Thai Son, Dmitry Ablogin, Kevin Kenner, and the Dean of the Frost School of Music, pianist Shelly Berg all made stunning guest appearances. Rising star virtuoso students of the Frost Chopin Academy performed alongside these remarkable artists. Enlightening workshops by Prof. Kenneth Hamilton were a bonus! The week-long Festival celebrated the music of Chopin with daily events and culminated with a remarkable Salon Concert in which artists and students collaborated in a relaxed, informal setting. Several Chopin Foundation Scholarship recipients participated in the program again this year. This event is a brilliant collaboration between the Chopin Foundation and the Frost School of Music and is the brainchild of pianist, Kevin Kenner.
