Timothy Jones is an accomplished pianist currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, where he also completed his MM and DMA degrees. He currently studies with Anton Nel, and was one of only two students ever admitted to the Artist Diploma program for piano in the school’s history. In addition to being an Artist Diploma student, he is a Guest Artist Staff Pianist at UT Austin, a position created uniquely for him. He has performed solo and collaborative recitals at Lincoln Center, the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and The Juilliard School, among other venues. He was the first prize winner and youngest competitor of the 2017 National MTNA Young Artists Competition, as well as a semi-finalist in the previous edition of the National Chopin Competition and a participant in the Dublin International Piano Competition.
